Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of specialized livestock workers
- Supervise farm machinery operators, livestock labourers, maple syrup, and harvesting labourers
- Move farm products during winter months and help prepare items for shipment
- Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
- Ensure farm cleanliness and proper care of equipment
- Supervise, monitor, and enforce procedures to maintain animal and crop health and welfare
- Supervise and oversee growing and crop-related operations, including grains
- Tap trees in all weather conditions
- Supervise maintenance of farm infrastructure, equipment, and supplies
- Ensure farm safety standards and procedures are followed
- Perform general farm duties when required
- Carry out other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working with small animals
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Available to work evenings and weekends when required
- Driver’s license is an asset
- Ability to drive farm machinery is an asset
- Mechanical inclination is an asset
