Responsibilities
- Perform proficient welding in at least one assigned area:
- Tank Weld
- Clamp Weld
- Top Cover Weld
- Small Parts
- Receive and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors
- Select proper welding rods, wires, and machine settings for each job
- Perform all-position welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications
- Use MIG, TIG, SMAW, submerged-arc welding, and oxy-acetylene cutting techniques
- Clean welds and ensure finished products meet quality standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and repairs
- Inspect welding processes and materials for compliance with specifications
- Assist with training and orientation of new employees when required
- Follow all safety policies and actively participate in workplace safety programs
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Proven welding experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Ability to work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding documentation
- Physical ability to work in various positions and environments
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and company standards
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, SMAW, submerged-arc welding, and brazing
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Experience using welding tools, overhead cranes, and positioners
- Ability to fabricate and layout materials accurately
- Knowledge of welding materials, consumables, and protective equipment
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
