Job Responsibilities
As a Poultry Farm Worker, your responsibilities will include supporting daily farm operations and ensuring compliance with farm standards. Key duties include:
- Setting up poultry sheds to receive day-old chicks
- Unloading and handling day-old chicks safely
- Conducting mortality runs and removal procedures
- Adjusting temperature, humidity, ventilation, and air quality as required
- Completing daily paperwork and check sheets
- Driving and operating farm equipment
- Cleaning, washing, and disinfecting sheds and equipment
- Maintaining farm grounds and surrounding areas
- Following biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety procedures
- Working on a roster that may include after-hours duties, weekends, and public holidays
- Performing additional duties as directed by the Farm Manager or Leading Hand
