Responsibilities
As a Welder, your key responsibilities will include:
- Interpret welding process specifications and technical documents
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, and manuals
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment
- Examine completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Operate flame-cutting and oxygen arc cutting (AOC / arc-air) equipment
- Operate brakes, shears, and metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
- Determine weldability of different materials
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely
- Fabricate or repair metal parts using previously set-up welding machines
- Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines
- Maintain welding, brazing, and soldering equipment and perform minor repairs
- Follow workplace safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder in construction or manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications
- Strong understanding of welding processes and mechanical systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Comfortable handling heavy loads and repetitive tasks
- High level of attention to detail and precision
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
