Job Overview
As a Welder/Pipefitter, you will perform journeyman-level welding, cutting, fabrication, and repair tasks in both shop and field environments. You will work with multiple welding processes, interpret technical documents, and ensure all work meets industry standards, project regulations, and safety requirements. The role also includes supporting welding qualification programs and assisting in mentoring junior welders.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform journeyman-level SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding and metal fabrication
- Carry out welding, fabrication, and repair work in shop and field settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and modification orders
- Fabricate metal products using welding, cutting, and forming techniques
- Use oxygen/acetylene, carbon arc, and plasma cutting equipment
- Assist in coaching and guiding subordinate welders on procedures and quality standards
- Support welding testing, qualification, and test plate inspection processes
- Ensure all work complies with project regulations, technical manuals, and industry standards
- Follow all OSHA, AFOSHA ES&H, and fire safety regulations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a weld shop environment
- At least 1 year of welding inspection experience
- Must be a qualified journeyman
- Experience using power tools, power saws, cranes, drills, and related equipment
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
- Ability to meet USCENTCOM Deployment Policy requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Qatar Residency Visa
- Must be able to work in extreme heat, dust, and hazardous conditions
- Ability to work long hours and withstand physically demanding environments
- Willingness to travel 100% to a deployed location
