Responsibilities
As a Teacher at Southern Cross Education, your main duties will include:
- Tutoring Year 7–8 students in English
- Teaching small group classes of up to 10 students
- Delivering lessons every Wednesday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm
- Conducting occasional one-on-one tutoring sessions
- Preparing detailed teaching plans for each lesson
- Creating and organizing related teaching materials
- Supporting students preparing for NCEA or Cambridge courses
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback
- Maintaining a positive and focused classroom environment
- Adjusting lesson plans according to student needs
Requirements
- Must hold a university degree or a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning
- Previous experience teaching NCEA or Cambridge courses
- Strong background in English teaching
- Ability to create detailed lesson plans and teaching materials
- Availability for part-time teaching hours
