As a Farm Attendant, you will play an important role in daily husbandry activities, feed operations, vessel maintenance, and site cleanliness. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Fish Performance Manager with daily salmon husbandry activities
- Work as a skipper or crew member and maintain vessels while onboard
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of marine sites and shore bases
- Monitor and maintain feed spreaders, cameras, and winches
- Observe fish hunger levels and report behavioral changes or predator activity
- Communicate findings to the Control Room, Wildlife Team, and managers
- Repair and maintain feed-related equipment
- Assist with feed delivery and transfer to feed barges
- Track and document feed equipment audits and asset movements
- Ensure feed barge maintenance requests are completed efficiently
- Assist with equipment installation and pen mooring maintenance
- Monitor and report seal, bird, or other predator activity
- Clean equipment according to biosecurity procedures
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies
- Perform other duties as reasonably directed by management
Job Requirements
- Experience working safely in a fast-paced or marine environment
- Ability to identify risks and take appropriate safety action
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills with managers and team members
- Willingness to work shift schedules
- Availability for pre-employment health assessments
- Legal authorization to work in Australia (preferred)
Skills and Qualifications
- Coxswain’s ticket is desirable
- Certificate III in Aquaculture is desirable but not essential
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing conditions
