Responsibilities
As a Farm Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring smooth farm operations throughout the growing and harvest seasons. Your main duties include:
- Managing and supervising farm employees, including team leaders and seasonal workers.
- Organizing, instructing, and coordinating staff during cherry harvest to maintain premium quality and efficiency.
- Communicating daily progress and operational updates to the Operations Manager.
- Ensuring employees follow company policies, food safety regulations, and safe work procedures.
- Maintaining discipline and positive morale in worker camps.
- Monitoring equipment and facilities to ensure all tools and appliances are in proper working condition.
- Collaborating with the Operations Manager to address operational challenges and improve workflow.
- Assisting in farm operations, including equipment handling when needed.
- Implementing strategies to maintain cleanliness and order in residential and work areas.
- Preparing reports and maintaining documentation related to production, safety, and compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in farm or agricultural management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work independently with a hands-on management approach.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety standards and agricultural best practices.
- Flexibility to work long hours, especially during harvest (July–August).
- Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Spanish language ability is an asset.
- Farming or horticultural background preferred.
