The antimicrobial peptide chemistry group, led by Professor Zvi Hayouka, is an internationally recognized research team specializing in peptide chemistry, solid-phase peptide synthesis, antimicrobial peptide design, biosensing, peptide modification, and microbiology. Their work has contributed significantly to antimicrobial discovery, advanced peptide applications, and the development of novel peptide-based technologies.
Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare data and documents required for research proposals and grant applications
- Conduct experiments involving synthesis and characterization of antimicrobial peptides and peptide bacterial binders
- Assist in analyzing, interpreting, and applying research procedures
- Monitor project progress and ensure accurate documentation
- Gather and organize research data for reports, publications, and academic papers
- Support laboratory operations and help train new team members in relevant techniques
- Work closely with the Principal Investigator through remote supervision
- Travel to Israel for specialized research training when required
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Peptide Chemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related field
- Strong experimental expertise in peptide chemistry
- Advanced knowledge in antimicrobial peptide design, synthesis, and profiling
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines while ensuring accuracy and quality
