Responsibilities
- Perform TIG and MIG welding, mainly on aluminum materials
- Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication blueprints
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, drilling, beveling, and fitting
- Weld vessel parts and structural components to required standards
- Inspect welds for quality, penetration, and finishing
- Use workshop tools and machinery safely and correctly
- Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Coordinate with team leaders, fitters, and production staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
Requirements
- NC II in Welding or any recognized welding/trade certificate
- Proven experience in TIG and/or MIG welding
- Actual experience in aluminum welding (shipyard or fabrication shop)
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
- Physically fit and safety-conscious
- Willing to work in a production shipyard environment
- Willing to relocate to Australia and work shifting schedules
