Responsibilities
- Assist with milking and maintain hygiene standards in the milking shed
- Feed livestock and support pasture allocation
- Move and manage stock safely
- Monitor animal health and report illness or injuries
- Assist with calving, mating, and general livestock care
- Clean farm equipment, sheds, and work areas
- Support fencing, water systems, and general maintenance tasks
- Operate basic farm machinery and equipment
- Follow farm policies on animal welfare and health & safety
- Assist the Herd Manager and team with daily farm operations
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in dairy or livestock farming OR
- A relevant qualification at NZQCF Level 4 or above
- Good knowledge of farm operations
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Commitment to animal welfare and workplace safety
- Driver’s licence is an advantage
